Anamaya Farthing-Kohl (Bolivia, 1988) is an artist who makes work in collaboration with the public, often asking for help in defining, circulating, or discovering her work. She received a BFA in sculpture from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, 2011, in 2014 she received a Fulbright to study in SOMA’s educational program. She has shown her work with solo shows at Refugio Para Emergencias Visuales, Galería 10,000, Crater Invertido, SOMA, and CASA TENEMOS in Buenos Aires. She has shown her work internationally participating in shows in Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Sweden, Japan, and the United States.
In 2019, Anamaya received a Stockholm Stads grant to work in collaboration with Nathalie Wuerth, she was nominated for a fellowship at Arts Matters Foundation (2018), was a fellow at the Luminary in Saint Louis, Missouri, (2017) and resident at TransAcciones Utópicas Centro Rural de Arte, Cazón, Argentina (2016). In 2015, she received a AMEXICD grant from the Mexican Government.
Her work has been published online, in books and magazines in the United States, Brazil and Mexico.

Anamaya(Bolivia, 1988) trabaja con monumentos públicos: servilletas, mapas, joyería, rejas, dinero, spam, etc. Ella estudia la vida social de estos monumentos por alterarlos a partir de cambios en escala, contenido y yuxtaposición.
Ha mostrado y producido su trabajo en países como Japón, Bolivia, Nepal, Colombia, Estados Unidos y México. También ha trabajado en comunidades como artista/educadora, involucrando a estudiantes con el arte, desafiándolos a cuestionarse por medio de prácticas similares a las de su proceso creativo. El objetivo de estos proyectos educativos no es halagar al arte, sino usarlo para legitimar el pensamiento.
Anamaya ha sido premiado con una beca Fulbright, Sculpture Project Award, Dean’s Grant y Diamond Scholarship, entre otras.
